Art Is Communication.
Language is Image.
Communication is the foundation on which civilizations are built, and the enlightened values that led to those civilizations. I believe the way to improve both ourselves and our world is to “create” in any way one can define the word as creating promotes self-awareness and appreciation of life. With my work, I may be attempting to communicate to you something relevant to me, or I may be trying to bring to light something we have in common with others. I may even be attempting to get you to think more deeply, to unearth parts of yourself, good, bad, or surprising. Not because I am any kind of authority, but because I believe it is intrinsic to us all to truly understand who we are as individuals and our place as part of the greater whole. It is what makes us resilient. In the most sincere of ways, creating is my life. To be an artist is not a hobby. It is to be obsessed, all-in, whether we like it or not. It is continuous and has no “off switch”.
